Medicine tablets are a relatively common dosage form in medicines. They are divided into controlled-release tablets and sustained-release tablets according to different preparation processes and drugs. What are the characteristics of different medicine tablets and what are the requirements for tablet vials?
Controlled-release tablets and sustained-release tablets are actually a relatively special pharmaceutical preparation technology. Sustained-release medicine tablets are understood from the literal meaning and mean slow release. They can be released slowly in the human body, maintain a certain blood concentration for a long time, have a relatively long-lasting effect, and can reduce the number of administrations to a certain extent. Under the same therapeutic effect, ordinary tablets may need to be taken 3 or 4 times a day, while sustained-release tablets are usually administered once or twice a day, which can be convenient for patients to a certain extent and improve patient compliance.
For controlled-release medicine tablets, not only can the drug be released slowly, but also can be released at a constant rate, while ensuring that the drug effect is in a very stable state. Compared with ordinary tablets, controlled-release tablets and sustained-release tablets have many improvements in the preparation process, so when we buy or use them, we will find that their prices may be higher than ordinary tablets.
Although there are differences in the preparation and efficacy of dosage forms, the basic requirements for packaging are the same. Tablet medicine bottles generally choose plastic packaging bottles, and the processing materials are polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., which require high moisture resistance and tightness. A desiccant will be placed inside the bottle or on the top of the bottle cap to prevent the medicine tablets from being decomposed by moisture.
