glucose tablets bottle density determination

Sep 06 , 2019

The glucose tablets bottle density measurement method is mainly used for the density determination of an oral solid pharmaceutical high-density polyethylene bottle, and the dipping method is used, that is, the density is measured according to the buoyancy method. Density refers to the mass of a substance per unit volume at a specified temperature. The density at a temperature of t degrees is expressed in Pt, and the unit is kg/m3, g/m3.

The impregnation method refers to the amount of buoyancy received in the immersion liquid of the sample at a predetermined temperature, which is equal to the product of the volume of the immersion liquid discharged from the sample and the density of the immersion liquid. The size of the buoyancy can be determined by measuring the mass of the sample and the mass of the sample used in the immersion liquid.

Instrument Balance with a precision of 0.1mg, with density measuring device (the minimum graduation value of the thermometer is 0.5 degrees)

Sample and immersion liquid

The sample shall be placed in an environment of 23 degrees ± 2 degrees and a relative humidity of 50% ± 5% for more than 4 hours, and then tested under these conditions. The sample is any non-porous material other than powder, the surface should be smooth and flat, no dents, clean, no cracks, no bubbles and other defects. The size is suitable, the sample does not exceed 2g.

The impregnating solution should be a new boiling water or other suitable liquid, a liquid that does not interact with the sample, and a wetting agent may be added if necessary, but should be less than 0.1% of the total volume of the impregnating liquid to remove small bubbles. During the test, when the sample was in contact with the liquid, there was no effect on the sample shadow. The density of the immersion liquid is generally less than the density of the sample; when the material density is greater than 1, water is used, and when the material density is less than 1, anhydrous ethanol is used.

Assay

Take the appropriate amount of sample, place it on the balance, accurately measure its mass in air (a), and then place the sample in an immersion liquid (water or absolute ethanol) with a certain amount of known density (PX) for precise determination. Its mass (b), the density of the container (material) is calculated according to the formula.
